Shopify was a large new build project which included 9 floors totaling about 178,000 sq. ft of finished floor space. From start to finish this project lasted 18 months. The bleacher stairs could not be constructed as per the original detail so we had to consult with our client and a structural engineer to redesign the area to be constructed out of heavy gauge steel studs and drywall. This project also included the introduction and installation of angled plywood to achieve the circular and peaked shape of various collaboration spaces. One challenge we faced on this project was that the unique design of Tectum Panels could not be installed as per the wood framing detail provided. Therefore, we ended up having to frame it out of steel studs to achieve the desired angles.
